A WHOLE NEW WAY TO THINK ABOUT BUILDING A HOME
Steel frame homes are not some type of industrial building or airplane hangar, built with heavy “red iron” hot-rolled beams. Steel frame homes look no different than any other house once they’re completed. STEEL FRAME HOMES are made of light gauge galvanized cold-rolled steel which has been bent into channels. Each channel, called a ‘C Channel’, is a substitute for a wood member, whether it is a stud, joist, rafter or truss. These channels are fastened to “track”, which is used as sills and blocking.
There is no question that the uniformity, quality, strength and lifespan of steel C channel are far superior to wood.
